Cause of death of Bakersfield infant unknown

At 7:19 a.m. Monday, Kern County sheriff's deputies responded to a report of an infant not breathing in the 6300 block of East Brundage Lane in Bakersfield.
Deputies found a 4-month-old girl not breathing and unresponsive. Deputies performed CPR on the infant until medical aid arrived.
The child was transported to Memorial Hospital and pronounced dead at the hospital.
There were no signs of trauma or obvious indications of the cause and manner of death of the child. An autopsy will be scheduled and the investigation is ongoing.
