The Bakersfield Police Department is asking for the community's assistance in identifying a suspect wanted for sexual assault and residential burglary.
On Thursday, Bakersfield Police officers were dispatched to an apartment complex located in the 3700 block of Q Street for a report of a sexual assault. Upon arrival, the officers learned that the adult female victim was in her apartment when she heard a knock on her front door.
The victim opened the front door and came in contact with the suspect. The suspect claimed he was looking for his friend and forced his way into the apartment. As the victim struggled with the suspect, she fell to the floor and the suspect attempted to remove her clothing. The victim continued fighting with the suspect and screamed for help at which point the suspect stopped his actions and ran away.
He is described as a Caucasian male in his thirties, 6 feet tall, thin build, dark brown hair. He was wearing dark pants and a white or gray shirt, and was carrying a black and white back pack.
Anyone with information regarding this case or the identity of the suspect is urged to call the Bakersfield Police Department at 327-7111 or Detective Jeremy Blakemore at 326-3557.
