Pedestrian critically injured in Rosamond area

A pedestrian in Rosamond suffered critical injuries Monday night when he was struck by a car, the Mojave office of the California Highway Patrol reported.

Dennis Bishop, 64, was walking southbound on 20th Street West near Colleen Drive at about 6:55 p.m. when he was hit by a 2004 Toyota pickup traveling in the same direction, a CHP news release said.

The Toyota was driven by Daniel Edmonson also of Rosamond, officers said. Edmonson wasn't hurt.

Bishop was taken by Hall Ambulance to Antelope Valley Hospital.

Alcohol and drugs don't appear to be a factor, the CHP news release said.
