Golden Valley High placed on lockdown and two teens arrested for resisting an officer

Golden Valley High School was placed on lockdown and two teens arrested Tuesday following an incident during which a campus police officer believed one of the teens was armed.
Kern High School District spokesman John Teves said the school was placed on lockdown at 10:22 a.m. as a precautionary measure. The lockdown was lifted at 11:18 a.m.
A campus police officer had pulled up to talk to two teens who were loitering on the west side of the school, Teves said. The teens ran when they saw the officer and one of them reached for his waistband in a way that made the officer suspect the teen might have a gun.
The officer ordered the lockdown and the teens were apprehended and booked into juvenile hall on suspicion of resisting arrest and noncompliance with a peace officer, Teves said. Neither teen had a gun.
Teves said the teens are not Golden Valley students.
