Three arrested in connection with Hart Flat burglary

Three people were arrested in the Hart Flat area Saturday in connection with a burglary investigation after Kern County Sheriff's deputies conducted a search that included air and K9 units, according to a sheriff's news release
At 2:18 p.m., deputies went to a home on Bear Mountain Road on a suspicious circumstances report. There had been a few recent burglaries in the area, and the deputies found that another one had happened at that home, according to the news release.
The deputies tried to secure the area, which is a large open valley with homes peppered throughout. But the deputies called for help from helicopter and K9 units. After a short time, the deputies found two of the suspects, but one remained hidden in the underbrush, according to the news release.
The two suspects they found were identified Anthony Damien, 24, and Misty Sterk, 22. Damien was arrested on suspicion of burglary, resisting arrest, grand theft auto and theft of a firearm. Sterk was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy and is being held on $10,000 bail.
The helicopter arrived and found a possible suspect vehicle stuck on the mountainside. The air unit directed the deputies to an area with large trees, and the K9 units were sent to search the area. The dogs found the suspect hiding near one of the trees.
The suspect refused to come out and one of the dogs was deployed. The suspect suffered several dogs bites and was taken to Tehachapi Hospital for treatment, according to the news release.
The third suspect was identified as Vince Brown, 24, a parolee who was arrested on suspicion of burglary, resisting arrest, grand theft auto and theft of a firearm. His and Damien's bail has not been set yet.
