Two arrested in connection with shootings

At 9 p.m. Wednesday, a victim reported being shot at by a passing motorist.
The victim was able to provide a description of the vehicle involved, and several minutes later deputies received a call reporting a bullet had been shot through the front glass doors of a business at Sequoia Drive at Woodrow Avenue in Oildale.
Deputies searched the area and in the 2100 block of McCray Street they found a vehicle matching the description of the suspect vehicle. Justin Whittington, 21, and Jesse Lamb, 21, were in the vehicle.
Deputies recovered a gun and Whittington and Lamb were arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and for shooting at an inhabited dwelling. Deputies are still investigating to determine if there is a connection between the two shootings.
