One man was seriously injured Wednesday in a two-car accident at the intersection of Calloway Drive and Marby Grange Way, and Bakersfield police said alcohol was a factor.

The 2:54 p.m. accident occurred when Keith Majusiak, 30, was traveling north on Calloway Drive in his white Chevrolet van. His vehicle struck a silver Toyota sedan headed west on Marby Grange Way, according to a BPD news release.

The driver of the sedan was transported to a local hospital.

Majusiak remained at the scene and was arrested for driving under the influence causing injury and great bodily injury. The investigation is ongoing.

Anyone with information on the accident is asked to contact Officer Jared Diederich at 326-3967.
