A probation search by sheriff's deputies Friday night resulted in the arrest of three men and the seizure of more than a quarter pound of methamphetamine.

The Sheriff's Gang Suppression Section went to 929 Richmond St. in Bakersfield at 10:30 p.m. to conduct a search for Gabriel Cruz, 28, as part of his probation on the electronic monitoring program. At the residence, deputites found Tranquilino Lopez, 25, who is in the same program, and David De La Garza, 23.

During a search of the residence, deputies found the meth, plus several thousand dollars in U.S. currency, surveillance equipment and items indicative of the sale of controlled substances.

De La Garza was arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance and possession of narcotics paraphernalia.

Cruz was arrested on suspicion of possession of narcotics for the purpose of sale, possession of drug paraphernalia and violating the terms of the electronic monitoring program.

Lopez also was arrested on suspicion of violating the monitoring program.
