Stiern Park shooting sends man to hospital

A man suffered a gunshot wound at Stiern Park shortly before midnight Friday, Bakersfield Police reported.

The unidentified victim told officers he was at the park on Monitor Street when two men in their 20s got out of a late model black Escalade truck or a red Ford F-150 and began shooting at him, according to a Bakersfield Police Department news release.

The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Anyone with information about the incident was asked to call the department at 327-7111.
