Half pound of meth found in Wasco day care

By THE BAKERSFIELD CALIFORNIAN

An early morning search Wednesday of a Wasco residence used as a children's day care facility resulted in a man's arrest and the seizure of nearly a half pound of methamphetamine worth $20,000.

Angel Soto, 24, was arrested during the 6:30 a.m. search of the home in the 400 block of F Street. He is being held on suspicion of various narcotics-related charges, plus destruction of evidence and participation in a criminal street gang.

The search by officers from the California Multijurisdictional Methamphetamine Enforcement Team, the Southern Tri County HIDTA Task Force and the Kern Narcotics Enforcement Team was conducted before children arrived at the day care.

The investigation began after police received numerous reports of possible drug deals in the home.

Officers notified the state day care licensing agents about the incident.
