Studies unable to determine manner of infant's death

Studies have determined the cause of death for an infant who died July 1 was sudden unexplained infant death, and the manner was unable to be determined, according to a coroner's office news release.
Jordyn Smith, 1 month, 27 days old, was discovered not breathing by her parents after spending the night sleeping with them in the bed of a pickup in a truck tent at the French Gulch Campground area, Kern County sheriff's deputies reported. She was pronounced dead about 45 minutes later at Kern Valley Hospital.
