Ashley finds a job -- at Ashley
By Bakosphere
"In the Ash Grove" is a fun blog of "random ramblings" and "Wordless Wednesday" photos published by 21-year-old Ashley Amick of Bakersfield.
Her latest post titled "Economics and New Jobs" is one for job seekers to celebrate, tying in a prediction she made in a CSUB macroeconomics research paper and her own real life.
In that class paper written Thursday, Amick said:
"One can never truly know what is going to happen next in the economy. Economists can make predictions about the future, but that is all they are, predictions. With the way things are going right now (the unemployment rate falling, and inflation and economic growth rates rising at a steady pace), I predict that 2012 is going to be a good year for the United States."
Call it good timing, karma or what, but 10 minutes later, Amick learned she had been hired at ... Ashley Furniture in Bakersfield. As Amick noted in closing her post, "I am going to be an Ashley working at Ashley.
Bring it on."
Good luck, Ashley!
