Restaurant named Bakersfield finally opens -- who's up for a road trip?
By Bakosphere
Loyal Bakosphere readers will recall that we wrote awhile back about a Bakersfield-themed bar coming to Cincinnati, of all places. Well, the place has finally opened.
Formally called Bakersfield OTR -- short for Over The Rhine, an area of Cincinnati -- the bar specializes in tacos, tequila and whiskey.
Bar owners Joe and John Lanni said they were inspired by the Bakersfield Sound in opening up a bar named Bakersfield 1,906 miles from its namesake city. But at least in scanning some nice photos on Cincinnati's Metromix site, the only homage to Bakersfield we could see is a glass cowboy boot filled with beer. But the food and beer selection looks great. And we gather from the restaurant's website that the jukebox is indeed rockin':
"Bakersfield isn't going to be all country, however. It will explore the sounds of classic rock n roll, blues, upcoming rock artists, modern-day rockabilly, etc. Rest assured, when you walk into Buck's house, he will show ya one hell of a good time!"
If you do happen to be in Cincinnati and hit the bar, let us know what you think and send us a photo or two. And tell them Bakosphere sent you.
