Shafter Dragon may have role in new Fantasyland
A few months ago The Californian's John Cox reported about a mysterious flying dragon being spotted over Shafter's Minter Field. There were plenty of eyewitness accounts of the dragon's prowess over the skies. Here's a sample:
"It looks real," flight trainer Justin Dyck said. "I thought it was going to be in a movie or something and they throw a little dragon in there."
Restaurant manager Tammy Zaninovich snapped photos and posted them on Facebook. So much for the surprise.
"It breathes fire and the mouth opens and closes," she said. "It's pretty cool."
Now the Disney fan site wdwmagic.com is suggesting, based on links from an official Disney Tumblr site, that the Shafter Dragon may be a new entertainment attraction for Walt Disney World's redone Fantasyland.
Today however, Disney has started putting out dragon teasers on the Official Disney Parks Blog and even created a dedicated Tumblr blog at http://disneydragons.tumblr.com. Most interestingly, the first post on Tumblr makes reference to dragons and new Fantasyland.
Here's an example of one of Disney's new Dragons
