The Medicine Shoppe Pharmacy will host a senior walk Friday.
The third annual walk is from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the parking lot at 5601 Auburn St., according to a pharmacy news release. Registration starts at 9:30 a.m. and a light lunch will be held at 12:30 p.m. The pharmacy will donate $2 to the East Niles Senior Center for every round of the parking lot completed, with a limit of three rounds per person.
Vendors can set up in the parking lot for a fee during the event. Contact Gita Doshi at 871-8881 for information.
An educational session about Physician Order for Life-Sustaining Treatment, POLST, will be held in Bakersfield next week.
The event on end-of-life decision-making is 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. April 16 at the Bakersfield Marriott, Salon A, 801 Truxtun Ave. The Greater Bakersfield Better Care Coalition will host the event, which is sponsored by Kaiser Permanente.
The event is free and open to the public. The panel will include a hospice and palliative physician, Kaiser employees and the director of the Kegley Institute of Ethics at Cal State Bakersfield.
Kern Radiology Medical Group Inc. celebrated the opening of a third location in Bakersfield this month.
The group's Riverwalk facility is located at 9330 Stockdale Highway, 100. The group was established in 1968 and has locations on San Dimas Street and Bahamas Drive as well.
