Mario Lopez on His 'X Factor' Chemistry with Khloe Kardashian and His Upcoming Wedding
By Parade Magazine
Mario Lopez is one busy man: he hosts Extra, has his own radio show, will co-host The X Factor with Khloe Kardashian, is a dad to 2-year old Gia, and is planning to wed Courtney Mazza in a ceremony to air on TLC on Dec. 8. This past Saturday, the charming Lopez added another duty to his resume, promoting Downy's new in-wash scent booster Downy Unstopables. Part of the product's launch is giving someone a chance to appear on Jimmy Kimmel Live!
The "12 Seconds to Fame" video contest (which runs until November 23. Find out more here) is looking for the "freshest," most entertaining person out there.
"It's really easy, its fun," says Lopez. "People have 12 to 30 seconds in these kiosks to record themselves about why they are so fresh. I encourage people to show their personality: they can sing, dance, do whatever they want and then somebody will get chosen to come out and have a real shot at fame on Kimmel. I think you gotta be yourself, be a fun silly version of yourself, and showcase whatever talent you have. At the end of the day, I think a fun personality will stand out."
Read on for more with Lopez including how Gia is prepping for the wedding and what to expect on X Factor:
On X Factor.
"Its still pretty new. We'll have the next live show on Thursday. I'm excited to be kicking it off and be part of the team. I was already a fan of the show so I'm looking forward to it and everything is convenient: they shoot next door to where I do Extra and my radio show."
On Khloe.
"It's been great since you can't manufacture chemistry. You either have it or you don't. It makes it easy and comfortable. I think I'm pretty hyper and like to talk. Our personalities mesh well and compliment each other."
On Gia and the wedding.
"She's fired up to be a flower girl and my nieces are going to be the other flower girls and I cant wait. She just turned two so she doesn't really have requests but next week I'm hosting the Disney Christmas parade in D.C. so that'll be the highlight for her. And I'm taking her trick or treating for Halloween."
