Black Angus, the restaurant chain with a store on Rosedale Highway, is celebrating its 50th year in business with new menu items, drink specials and a new happy hour in its BullsEye Bar.

They've added an anniversary classic cocktail menu featuring timeless hand-crafted libations like the Manhattan, old fashioned, sidecar and Rob Roy. And on Tuesdays, guests may enjoy any featured classic cocktail for only $5 from 4 to 7 p.m.

The bar menu includes items such as filet mignon sliders and steakhouse tacos, with drink and food specials beginning at $3.50. Tuesday features a burger and brew special, and Friday's offer is "steak Frites" with a double order of French fries.

New, limited-time menu items that will be offered this year include rack of lamb and seasonal desserts such as white chocolate bread pudding with a warm butterscotch sauce.

The steaks at the chain are still cut in-house, aged 21 days, and then brushed with butter just before being pulled off the grill.

Red Lobster is offering new seafood trios for $15.99 through May 25. The offer includes a wood-fire grilled seafood selection, a signature shrimp option and specialty pasta ... Summer specials at California Pizza Kitchen include a fresh strawberry mango cooler, a strawberry rhubarb martini or a strawberry lime margarita. Summer food choices include a strawberry shortcake dessert and a tricolore salad pizza ... El Taco Fresco, 1431 California Ave., has added chipotle ranch tacos to its lunch and dinner menu ... Tahoe City Wine Walk

If you're headed to cooler climates up north, one event that's growing in popularity is the Tahoe City Wine Walk on the north shore of the famous lake. The ninth annual event is set for June 21, and the lineup includes participation from more than 30 vendors specializing in wines, boutique teas, high-end spirits, microbrews and North Lake Tahoe's premier restaurants and catering companies. Last year 800 people attended the event. Participants stroll from noon to 4 p.m., sipping and eating, shopping in boutique stores and listening to live music. Sunset Magazine event

"Sunset SAVOR the Central Coast" is all set for Sept. 25 to 28 in San Luis Obispo County, and if you buy your tickets this month you can get a Main Event Weekend Pass for only $100 (a $50 savings). The four-day "lifestyle" event takes place at the Santa Margarita Ranch and will include seminars with celebrity and local chefs, acclaimed wine makers, tours of wine country and Hearst Castle. Food & Wine Weekend in Santa Barbara

One of the top food and wine events of the summer is coming up, June 6 through 8 at the Bacara Resort in Santa Barbara. The Santa Barbara Food & Wine Weekend is a benefit for the Julia Child Foundation for Gastronomy and the Culinary Arts. Events include an opening reception on Friday with 40 vintners sampling their wines and a screen of "Kitchen Wisdom," a documentary paying homage to the late Child, a long-time area resident. Saturday brings seminars and cooking classes leading to a "neighborhood tasting" Sunday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Kids eat free at Jersey Mike's

The local outlets of the national sandwich chain are participating in the nationwide promotion that's continuing to grow in popularity: children eat free on Sunday when accompanied by an adult. The rules: One child's sandwich with every adult sandwich purchased, child must be 10 or younger.
