Local veterans, military can see 'White House Down' for free on July 4

By THE BAKERSFIELD CALIFORNIAN

The producers of the new film "White House Down" are offering free July 4 admission to veterans and active members of the military. The Sony Pictures action film stars Jamie Foxx and Channing Tatum.

Participating Bakersfield theaters include: Maya Cinemas, 1000 California Ave.; Edwards Theaters, 9000 Ming Ave.; and Reading Cinemas, 2000 Wible Road. All patrons must present a valid military ID, with one admission per ID. The offer is only valid July 4.

The big budget film, which opened last week to mixed reviews features Tatum as aspiring Secret Service agent John Cale. During a White House tour with his daughter, an attempted takeover by a paramilitary group, pushes Cale to jump into action to save the president (Foxx), the first family and the nation.
