Worth noting: Bolthouse opening new "Innovation Center" in Bakersfield, more

Bolthouse Farms plans to unveil its new Innovation Center at a ceremony Jan. 16 at the company's Bakersfield headquarters on East Brundage Lane.
The carrot production and distribution giant said in a media advisory Tuesday that the center is designed to "accelerate the development and consumer appeal of new, all natural products as well as continued enhancements of current Bolthouse Farms products across beverages, food and health snacks."
In-Shape Health Clubs is waiving guest fees during the NFL Playoffs.
The fitness club chain, which has Bakersfield locations on White Lane, Oswell Street and Ming Avenue, said the fees will not be charged through when playoff games are in progress. The deal expires Jan. 20.
In-Shape said it has high-definition, big-screen televisions through its facilities.
Baker Hughes Inc. will receive the Shafter Chamber of Commerce's 2013 Business Award at a Jan. 31 ceremony, the chamber has announced.
