Bakersfield ice cream and sweets purveyor Dewar's says it is negotiating a lease for what would be its fourth location, a prominent, 780-square-foot space employing between 20 and 30 people in the food court at The Outlets at Tejon.
Recently confirmed tenants at the 320,000-square-foot outlet project include Adidas, Brooks Brothers, China Max, Columbia, Converse, Dress Barn, Fossil, Gold Toe, Guess Factory Store, J. Crew Factory, Justice, Kay Jewelers, Lane Bryant, LOFT Outlet, Luggage Factory, Michael Kors Outlet, Nike Factory Store, Pac-Sun, Reebok, Subway Cafe, Windsor Fashion and Wing Stop.
The outlet center is under construction on the east side of Interstate 5 just north of The Grapevine. A grand opening is set for Aug. 7.
The Outlets at Tejon has scheduled a fundraiser with several local charities to take place the night before its grand opening.
Nonprofits are selling $25 tickets that offer a chance to shop at the center Aug. 6, the night before its grand opening. The organizations get to keep their ticket sales proceeds.
Nonprofits selling the tickets are the American Red Cross Kern Chapter, Boys & Girls Club of Kern County, CASA of Kern County, Junior League of Bakersfield and Links for Life.
Fresno First Bank has opened a loan production office in Bakersfield as part of its Capital First Bank division.
The Bakersfield branch, located on the fifth floor at 1430 Truxtun Ave., is to be managed by the bank's vice president of government guaranteed lending, Keith Wolaridge.
