A new program of the Greater Bakersfield Chamber of Commerce was introduced to "First Look with Scott Cox" viewers and listeners Tuesday morning.
It's called Good Morning Bakersfield, and the quarterly breakfast events will focus on big issues impacting businesses.
The first presenter this Monday will be Rep. Kevin McCarthy, R-Bakersfield, talking about the country's finances and what they mean to the local economy.
"Businesses are concerned about having some type of certainty that they can count on and Kevin will bring some answers," said Cindy Pollard, chamber president and CEO.
The House majority whip is expected to talk about the debt ceiling and sequestration.
Registration is at 6:45 a.m., followed by the seminar from 7 to 8:30 a.m. at DoubleTree by Hilton, 3100 Camino Del Rio Court.
It's $45 for chamber members and $75 for non-members, or $550 for a table of 10. Register at 327-4421 or bakersfieldchamber.org.
