J.D. Heiskell & Co. grain, commodities trading and feed manufacturing company in Tulare, announced Monday that president and CEO DUANE “BUTCH” FISCHER will retire at the end of November.
He will be succeeded by Ryan Pellett, executive vice president and chief operating officer, based in the company’s Elkhorn, Neb., office and where he will remain, an announcement said. Pellett has been with Heiskell since June 2000 and becomes president and CEO on Dec. 1. The corporate headquarters will remain in Tulare.
Fischer joined the privately held company in 2001 and led its transformation from a small regional enterprise into a business with operations across the continental United States, the announcement said. Fischer was elected to the board of directors this year and will serve after retirement in a consulting role as outside director.
