Kern Schools Federal Credit Union has announced a number of executive appointments. MICHAEL M. GEORGE was named senior vice president of operations and marketing. In his 17 years at the credit union, he has served as vice president of operations and has worked in business development, audit and member service. He graduated from the University of the Pacific and from Western CUNA Management School. STEVEN MATEJKA was named senior vice president of branch administration and compliance. He has worked in the financial services industry for more than 17 years, having begun at the credit union as branch manager of its Ming Avenue location. He has also served as Kern Schools’ director of branches, director of loan adjustments and vice president of branches and marketing. He earned a bachelor’s degree in business finance at the University of Nebraska, and in 2006, he graduated from the Western CUNA Management School. LARRY BRALEY was named vice president of wealth management. He and the institution’s wealth management team have won Bank Insurance and Securities Association Community Bank Program of the Year. He has various financial services licenses, and has co-authored several books on management. JANET TIBBETS has joined Kern Schools as vice president of information technology. She previously worked as data center manager at American First Credit Union in La Habra, and as vice president of information technology at First Financial Credit Union in West Covina. She earned a bachelor’s degree in information technology in 2002. MARK MANNS was named director of human resources. Manns has more than 15 years of human resources experience. He earned a bachelor’s degree in human resources management at Illinois State University. He has a Senior Professional Certificate in Human Resources Management, and is a graduate of Western CUNA Management School. He serves on the board of governors of the Kern Chapter of the California Credit Union League. CHEI BROWN was named director of branches. She has worked at Kern Schools for 17 years, having started as a part-time teller. She has served as a new account representative and as financial services officer. She became manager of the University Centre branch in 2007. She earned an associate’s degree in liberal arts at Taft College.
