Christine Peterson works with reporters covering a variety of news. She oversees business news, including real estate, retail, restaurants, agriculture, oil and new energies, development, cars, growth, employment and aerospace. She also works with reporters on breaking news, including crime, courts and public safety topics.
She has worked at The Californian since 1997 in several capacities, including as a crime and education reporter, copy editor, assistant city editor, business editor, city editor and growth and economy news editor.
Before that, she reported at The Orange County Register for two years.
In 1995, Peterson earned a bachelor’s degree in communication with an emphasis in journalism at Santa Clara University.
Her journey to journalism started when, as a high school student, she loved to write but wondered, “Who will pay me to write?” What began as a love of writing morphed into a love of sleuthing out information and asking lots of questions.
