A local insurance company is holding seminars for those who have questions about Obamacare and Covered California with the hope of getting them signed up before the Dec. 15 deadline.

Wednesday on "First Look with Scott Cox," Doug Thompson of Sillect Insurance talked about the importance of registering for healthcare sooner rather than later.

"California is locked in with Covered California and that is not going anywhere, even if Obamacare is ever overturned," said Thompson, who has been in the insurance businesses for more than 30 years.

Simulcast host Scott Cox and his wife went to a seminar Thompson offers at 6 p.m. every Tuesday at 4501 State Road and said he walked out feeling better.

After listening and asking questions, Cox learned he will actually save a few dollars with the new health care law.

Thompson said there are different levels of healthcare people can select.

"We've heard a lot of mixed messages about healthcare but I think it's time people put that in the back seat, come talk to me, and I'll answer any questions you have," Thompson said.

For questions, call 393-9050.
