Aviator to visit Bakersfield
Aerobatics pilot Julie Clark will drop in on at Atlantic Aviation in Bakersfield Friday about noon to sign autographs and show off her restored Warbird.
Clark will fly there in her restored T-34 Chevron Mentor, “Free Spirit,” with her dog, Bernie, an Lhaso Apso that travels with her on all flights (except during performances) and sits in the cockpit.
Clark performs at more than 25 air shows per year and visits airports along the way. She’s been a pilot for more than 38 years and is a retired Northwest Airlines captain.
In March 2002 Clark was inducted into the Women in Aviation Pioneer Hall of Fame of Women in Aviation, International. The Hall of Fame recognizes the contributions of women to the aviation industry as record setters, pioneers or innovators.
Atlantic Aviation is at 1550 Skyway Drive.
