Holiday weekend marred by three killings

by Gretchen Wenner

One night, three killings.
A trio of separate incidents early Sunday punctuated the holiday weekend with violence.
Biker brawl
In Bakersfield, a massive fight outside a motorcycle club left one dead and two injured, the Bakersfield Police Department reported.
The parking-lot fight erupted as a throng of 200 or so customers left the Iron Hoggs Motor Cycle Club shortly before 4 a.m.
Officers found Bakersfield resident Larry Allen Jr., 26, lying in the center lane of Wible with a single gunshot wound to his chest. Allen died at Kern Medical Center a short time later.
Two others were also shot. Bruce Leland Cameron, 34, was wounded in the shoulder and Cynthia Denise Langston, 44, in the forearm. They were treated and released at local hospitals.
The club, at 4314 Wible Road, is in an unmarked building in a commercial center south of White Lane and west of Highway 99, surrounded mostly by auto repair shops.
No arrests had been made as of Sunday evening. Police would like anyone with information to call 327-7111.
Shafter murder
Shafter resident Sandra Aparicio, 39, died after being stabbed inside Graddy’s Lounge at 355 State Ave. around 12:20 a.m., officials reported.
Shafter police arrested 54-year-old Jose Rosario Aguilar Lopez of Bakersfield on suspicion of murder after he tried to flee on foot from the Shafter bar. Online records showed Lopez was being held without bail Sunday.
Senior Officer Randy Milligan of the Shafter Police Department said “some type of relationship” existed between the two, although details are still under investigation.
Lamont shooting
Lamont resident Ricardo Jiminez Salazar, 37, was being held without bail Sunday on suspected murder charges after allegedly shooting an unidentified Hispanic man shortly after midnight, sheriff’s officials reported.
The incident took place in the 7800 block of Harold Street following an argument between the two. It was not gang related, deputies say.
The victim suffered multiple gunshot wounds. He died at Kern Medical Center around 1:40 a.m.
