From laser vision correction to facial rejuvenation to CoolSculpting, you can get it all done at Empire Eye & Laser Center. The procedures are meant to make you feel great and possibly look younger.
Dr. Joseph Chang, owner of Empire Eye, talked about the latest in cosmetic surgery for both men and women Tuesday on "First Look with Scott Cox."
"People assume it's only women who come in and do these procedures," Chang said. "But so many men are coming in."
One common non-surgical procedure Chang performs is Botox. Botox is a relaxing agent that gets rid of unwanted wrinkles people develop over the years.
If you frown too much, you might begin to see wrinkle lines form on your forehead. Chang said that can be treated with a simple and affordable Botox session.
"The skin starts to fold at the same place after the same motion is done continuously," the doctor said.
But Botox is not just attracting older people; those in their 20s are turning to Botox, too.
According to Chang, young people seek Botox as a preventative measure.
If your face is not an area that needs work, but you're embarrassed by your love handles or muffin-tops, Chang has a new popular procedure to freeze fat.
"CoolSculpting is a procedure that removes fat and it can substitute liposuction," Chang said.
So how does it work?
The non-invasive treatment gently targets and cools unwanted fat cells in the selected area to induce a natural looking reduction in fat bulges.
Chang underwent the procedure himself, having four areas done at his practice. The pain during and after the treatment was minimal, he said.
"It's permanent. Once it's gone, it's gone," Chang said, although he recommended a well-balanced diet and exercise plan to keep the fat off.
