  1. East Bakersfield resident bound, robbed

    Two intruders tied up a man, then ransacked and robbed his east Bakersfield home Wednesday afternoon.

    Kern County Sheriff's deputies were dispatched at about 3:25 p.m. to a report of a robbery in the 2200 block of Pictoria Drive, according to a Kern County Sheriff's Department news release.

    The victim told deputies that two white men knocked on his door at about 3 p.m., the news release said. When the victim answered the door, one of the men produced a handgun and forced the man back into his home, where they tied him up, deputies said.

    The intruders ransacked the residence and took several firearms, jewelry, a computer and a 2004 two-tone, green Mazda Tribute, the news release said. They left the victim tied up, but he called the Sheriff's Department several minutes later after freeing himself, deputies said.

    One suspect was described as 6 feet tall with dark hair. He was wearing a blue windbreaker and blue jeans.
